Skin Cancer Screening in Vienna

Skin cancer screening with digital dermoscopy detects skin cancer early, when it is most treatable – annual mole screening at Park Medical in Vienna.

Why skin cancer screening is so important

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers – and one of those with the best chances of recovery when detected early. Because suspicious changes often cannot be distinguished from harmless moles by the naked eye, regular specialist checks are crucial.

Your benefits at a glance

  • Early detection of melanoma and light-coloured skin cancer
  • Digital dermoscopy for a view beneath the skin surface
  • Documentation of conspicuous moles for comparison over the years
  • Examination without pain and without radiation
  • Clear recommendation on what should be monitored and what should be removed

How the examination works

We examine your skin systematically from head to toe, including hard-to-see areas such as the scalp, back and between the toes. Conspicuous moles are assessed magnified with the dermoscope and documented digitally if needed. The examination usually takes 20 to 30 minutes.

How often should you have a check-up?

For most adults an annual check is advisable. We recommend it more often with many or conspicuous moles, a fair skin type, sunburns in childhood, a family history or after previously treated skin cancer.

When you should not wait

Have a mole checked promptly if it changes in size, shape or colour, has an irregular border, itches, bleeds or is new and differs from your other moles.
